THE LABYRINTHE
Through analyzation of downtown Charlottesville and the greater Albemarle county area, a lack of high density housing, urban green space, and public space can be observed. Despite the fact that the University of Virginia is less than a mile away from the downtown mall, the students interact very little with the mall. The proposed project will seek to implement programs that cater to the students in order to draw them to the downtown mall while also remediating the gaps in land use. Urban gardens, a coffee shop, auditorium, and student residence for undergraduate upperclassmen and graduate students of the university will be imposed onto the site.
